If you are selling your home subjesct to short sale approval, your lender will ask you to provide specific documents when processing your request for a short sale. Having the short sale documents ready before hand will help to reduce the amount of time the lender takes in negotiation.

These short sale documents include:

  • Mortgage statements. You should plan on having 2 months of all your most recent mortgage statements
  • Checking and savings account statements. You will be require to provide a minimum of 2 months checking and saving account statements.
  • How much you are paid. You will need to provide your last 2 paycheck stubs.
  • Tax returns. You will be required to provide the past 2 year tax returns.
  • Hardship letter. Your lender will want you to explain in your own words what has happened that now prevents you from meeting your obligations.
  • Financial worksheet.
