There are Florida property tax exemptions available to those who qualify. For a detail description and to find out which exemption(s) you qualify for, call or email us to get the contact information for your county property appraiser’s office.

Normally you must apply for an exemption between January 1 and March 1 of the year you seek the exemption. A brief description of available exemptions you may qualify for include Florida property tax exemptions; homestead exemption, widow/widower’s exemption, disability exemption. blind exemption.

  • $25,000. Homestead exemption – For those individuals who own or have legal title to their home as of January 1st and plan to use it as their permanent residence.
  • $500. Widow/Widower’s exemption – Available to Florida home owners.
  • $500. Disability exemption – For those who are totally and permanently disabled. 
  • $500. Blind exemption - For Florida home owners.
  • $5000. Ex-service member disability exemption. – On any service member property owned.

There are total and permanent disability exemptions available to both honorably discharged service members and no service members. There may also be an additional homestead exemption available for those who are 65 and over who qualify.
